Alum Chine Beach Huts
Luxury Beach Huts development at Alum Chine for Bournemouth Borough Council. Completed 2009. "Village" of 24 beach huts some on cantilevered decking, others stepping down a steeply sloping site. Hilary Martin Integrated Design acted as design team leader and contract administrator.

Druitt Gardens - Christchurch
Masterplan for the refurbishment of Druitt Gardens in Christchurch. Hilary Martin was asked by Christchurch Borough Council to produce a landscape masterplan to enhance the amenity and ecological value of this unique town centre woodland. Following a successful public consultation exercise detailed design proposals are in progress.
Bournemouth Allotments
Allotments refurbishment for Bournemouth Borough Council. Completed 2007, cost £800,000. Hilary Martin was asked to liaise with the Allotment Associations and draw up proposals for refurbishment of three existing sites including, two new buildings, perimeter fencing, roads, accessible plots, water standpipes and compost storage facilities.
Expert Witness
Hilary Martin has developed a reputation as a successful expert witness on many occasions in both planning inquiries and hearings. She has dealt with landscape and visual impact issues in both urban and rural developments ranging from agricultural buildings in the New Forest National Park to secure institutions in the green belt surrounding Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Planning negotiations and detailed design of high quality, low maintenance landscapes for residential developers.
Sports Landscapes
Design and contract administration of 3 full size, floodlit, artificial turf multi-sport pitches and 3 multi-use games areas (MUGAs).
Hilary Martin also managed the contract to reconstruct the grass playing fields and long jump for West Moors Middle School.

Schools
Hilary Martin has many years of experience in the design of educational landscapes for all ages. The landscape appraisal illustrated is for the re-design of the school grounds of Shaftsbury School (11-18). Works included, perimeter fencing, new car parking, new hard play areas, planting refurbishment, and a large canopy structure for shelter. Schools and Play
Hilary Martin has many years of experience in the design of play and educational landscapes for all ages. The proposals illustrated are for outdoor informal and structured play ideas in the nursery and reception departments of Hamworthy First School. For Borough of Poole as a sub-consultant to The Genesis Design Studio.
Rural Landscapes
Hilary Martin works with Planning Consultants and Land Agents to find environmentally enhancing solutions for development in the rural landscape. The project illustrated was a proposed shooting range in Hampshire. Work included landscape and visual impact assessment and detailed planting proposals for hedgerow and woodland to integrate the large bunded areas into the landscape.
Rural Landscapes
Hilary Martin works with Planning Consultants and Land Agents to find environmentally enhancing solutions for development in the rural landscape. The project illustrated was a proposed agricultural building in an AONB in Hampshire. Work included detailed design of native hedgerow and woodland to successfully meet the local planning authority requirements for integration.

Detailed design of industrial and commercial sites, some requiring landscape and visual impact assessment as part of the package.
